Will and Testimony of Rabbi Yochanan Banun zt”l

Exclusive report of a Jew’s return to the last generation from Gan Eden

[From second tape]

For a year I suffered grave illness without respite. One day I took my family out in my car. Then suddenly I became weak and was not able to drive further. I almost caused a traffic accident, which G-d forbid would have endangered my entire family. The car finally stopped on the side of the road, and IY”H we all were able to escape alive.

The police and ambulance immediately arrived at the scene. I was taken by the ambulance to hospital Tel Hashomer. (My children were taken elsewhere, but I don’t know where to.)

I was admitted into the Intensive Care ward. During my time under intensive care I ascended up to the spiritual worlds, entering two tunnels adjacent one to the other.

In another tunnel [needs explaining] I met seven elders that were smiling and laughing, and evidently were deriving enjoyment [from their lot in that world]. In the second tunnel were another seven elders, but of a different temperament. I asked those seven elders [in the second tunnel], “What do I need to do?”

“Continue on with the commission appointed you,” I was told.

I asked the elder speaking to me, “What is my appointed commission?”

“Your appointed commission,” he explained, “is to distribute the Zohar. From this you are not permitted to cease, even for one moment, to distribute the Zohar.

“Do not cease distributing the Zohar at all! Not even for one moment! In every place where you are able, whether it be women, men, or children, in every place where you are able.”

Admor from Holmin??? Already for eight years [the time that I have distributed the Zohar]. the Rashbi has not ceased for a moment in spreading the light of the Zohar in the world. All the tevel (refuse from the straw) has to be removed from the straw. The Zohar needs to be presented to every person in their own language.

Rabbi Yochanan: I do not want this obligation. I want to stay here. I want to stay with you.

Admor from Holmin: Who was the seventh of those elders? Do you know?

Rabbi Yochanan (to the Admor from Holmin: Yes, the names of the seven elders stand for the names of the seven Sefirot, chagot nahim (חג"ת נהי"מ)

Rabbi Yochanan (in Shemayim): I want to stay here with you.

At this, the six other elders stood up and exclaimed: “No, you will remain with us. We continue to work, and so you too will continue to work, in your own unique capacity.”

Rabbi Yochanan: But my own personal path is not the same as yours. You can see that I follow a different path.

Elders in Shemayim: Every path of the Creator is simply the path required by the demands of the present moment.

Admor from Holmin: The seven elders…?

Rabbi Yochanan: I entered the second tunnel, which I described to you earlier. There were two passageways elevating me to the presence of the elders. One passage elevated me to the six elders; the other passage elevated me to the seven elders.

Admor from Holmin: What did the elders tell you?

Rabbi Yochanan: The seven elders said that I have a large work to perform in distributing the Zohar ha’Kodesh. I need to continue to teach the Zohar, only the Zohar, and not to depart from it for any other aspect of Torah. Apart from Zohar, I would not involve myself in anything else whatsoever. I asked, “But what about the Shulchan Aruch? What about other books of the Torah, such as the gemara?”

Elders in Shemayim: All other avenues of Torah are already fully worked through. All of them! In the Diaspora, Gedolim, great rabbis have already dissected and explained the entire gemara, and the entire Shulchan Aruch.

Rabbi Yochanan: Good, but that is not my path. For ten years I already worked to chase after people. I set up groups, led Jews to do teshuva, people who did not even know Shema Yisrael today recite Shema Yisrael, light Shabbat candles, observe laws of family purity, observe laws of Kashrut. That already is not my path.

Elders in Shemayim: Who told you teaching the Zohar is not your appointed commission? That is your path. That indeed is your commission. You need to continue to work in this.

Rabbi Yochanan: I do not wish to. I wish to stay here with you. I don’t want to go running any more to my place. You are happy. It’s good for you here. I want to stay with you.

Elders in Shemayim: You are not able to remain with us here. You have much work to do, so much work.

Rabbi Yochanan: But I am sick. You can see how I look. Just look at my body. It is finished.

Elders in Shemayim: Who says it is finished! Don’t worry, that body will become strong; it will continue to serve you for some more time. At the moment it needs rest. No other person could stretch their body to the extent that you stretched yours. You literally broke your body, not giving it even a minute’s rest. [And so did the seven Elders continue to discuss my future.]…He will continue to be our representative.

One of the seven Elders: Do not allow him even one minute’s rest.

At this, the six other elders rose up…

Elders in Shemayim: He will continue to be our representative.

But one of the seven elders disagreed…

Single Elder: No, I want him to continue to be my representative, only mine.

Some discussion went on, which I could not understand, in Aramaic. But the main conclusion was that I would return back to the world. During all this time my Death Certificate had already been written. I have it, and on it was written, “Died…”

Admor from Holmin: Who wrote it?

Rabbi Yochanan: The doctor.

Admor from Holmin: At what time?

Rabbi Yochanan: Yes…

Admor from Holmin: Who was the seventh elder?

Rabbi Yochanan: I don’t know. But I know that the seventh was from the “chagat nahim.” The seventh was [the sefira] Malchut.  He treated me better that the others. He told me, “I will help you. Don’t worry, you are not alone. You will not be alone, ever!

And so I needed to be conveyed again via the tunnels a second time. I pleaded with the elders…

Rabbi Yochanan: But I don’t want to leave. I don’t want to, for it is too painful.

The tunnels cause great pain. The tunnels of death cause great great pain. The woods there were of fig trees, “sad” fig trees…

Rabbi Yochanan: But if this is the Garden of Eden, why are you so said?

Elders in Shemayim: We are sad because all of us are waiting for the World to Come. Not one soul has yet reached the World to Come. There isn’t any World to Come, not for this time. The World to Come won’t be until all of Israel do teshuvah, when all of Israel live by the Torah.

Then I entered the small tunnel. [Following inserted from the fourth tape]: I passed through the tunnel with great hardship. I didn’t want to go to my home. I pleaded, “I don’t want to go. Please leave me here with you.”

Elders in Shemayim: That is impossible. There are thirteen attributes of Rachamim (mercy). And the thirteen attributes of Rachamim descend and crystallize from the “Supreme Elder.” You are required to be our representative. Return and perform much rachamim and chesed, with tzedaka (charity). Help and teach Shema Yisrael, and teach the Ten Gevurot (“Ten Powers”) to whoever doesn’t know them.

But the main thing is to learn Zohar., the Holy Zohar. Do not leave the Zohar. Make people habitually learn Zohar, even one, two or three minutes, but make them learn Zohar. That minute is able to emancipate the world from the clutches of the Sitra Achra (the side of evil). Just one minute! That minute will endure; now take advantage of it with all your strength and power, and you will attain to the Geulah Shleima (the complete Redemption). All the refuse attach to the Erev Rav now existing concurrently with Am Yisrael. But they are not waste or refuse themselves—they are Am Yisrael, with no other like them. We are talking about the total, the parasite [in all and each of us] which attaches itself to Am Yisrael, despite having no sustainable claim to them. Let us take from them, the Erev Rav, lke Dina did with Shechem, taking the souls from there that were holy sparks. The holy sparks from Dina became Osnat.

Around me were seven or eight doctors with needles and many tubes connected to me. This was a miracle, as from the observations of my family, it was a great miracle that I received a new lease of life.

From third tape:

My family saw that I was dead. The doctor concluded that I was dead, and already had written the Death Certificate. But now I am alive, not dead. For three minutes I was clinically dead. Three minutes! In the Upper Worlds [laughing] I found my judgment, three minutes many times over—three minutes is an enormous amount of time, without any limit. I returned to life.

Admor from Holmin: What did the doctors say to you?

Rabbi Yochanan: That they had saved me. They said, “This is a medical miracle.” I responded, “This was no medical miracle. This is a miracle. Why medical? What is medical about it?”

But that concludes the matter. I had returned and would do exactly as the elder had instructed me. They [the elders] were with me all the time. I see them constantly, like the elder had said to me, “Your body will be healed, and you will return to health. You will return to your path in the world from before.” That is exactly what I am doing now.

Admor from Holmin: When did that transpire though?

Rabbi Yochanan: After three months.

Admor from Holmin: So now we have come to begin your work. We are your representatives.

Rabbi Yochanan: It may well be.

Admor from Holmin: What I said is because the Rashbi returns the dead to life.

From fourth tape:

The elder “Malchut” told me, “I am behind you always. I will not leave you, not ever. You will be shielded, but nevertheless with many trials. The trials that come upon you are the trials that came upon me.”

Admor from Holmin: Of the Holy Shechina.

Rabbi Yochanan: “Malchut” told me, “You will bear part of them, and part will be borne by other Tzaddikim.”

Admor from Holmin: So until here, Rabbotai [listeners]. Ha’Kaddosh Baruch Hu should bless you [Reb Yochanan], granting you power and fortitude to emulate Moshe Rabeinu and his Holy Torah.

Rabbi Yochanan: The gemara in the tractate Makot teaches, “Moshe Rabeinu came and stood the Torah on 613 Mitzvot. Then the nevi’im, prophets came and stood the Torah on some tens of mitzvoth. Finally Habbakuk came and stood all the mitzvoth together on one single mitzvah. Which mitzvah? Emuna, faith! The tzaddik will stand on his emuna. A person endures through his emuna, the emuna of truth. All things are written in the Torah, but it remains for a person to labor.

Admor from Holmin: Ha Kaddosh Baruch Hu should give you “Refuah Shleima” in the merit of the Rashbi and his son, Eleazar, and you should now set off on your Holy avodah (work) with power from on High.
